Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
American Radon Systems (“we,” “us”) takes your privacy seriously. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We'll keep it plain, with no legal jargon that requires a lawyer to decode.
What We Collect
When you fill out our contact form, call us, or communicate with us, we may collect:
- Name, phone number, and email address
- For realtor referrals, the realtor's contact and brokerage information and the client information the realtor is authorized to provide
- Your home or property address (for estimates and installs)
- The city or zip code you enter in a form
- Details about your situation, such as radon test results, radon levels, deadlines, or anything else you share in your message
- Photos of your home or installation area, if you share them
- Basic website analytics data (pages visited, general location, device type). See the Cookies section below.
We only collect what's actually useful to help you.
How We Use Your Information
- To contact you about your estimate, question, or service request
- To schedule and complete your radon mitigation installation
- To record an appointment date and time that Bill already provided in our private job-management and calendar systems
- To keep your business contact details in our private contact-management system
- To send a confirmation email if you provided one
- To keep records of completed work for your home and for our state licensing requirements
- To follow up after your installation if needed
We do not use your information for marketing campaigns or automated sales funnels. When Bill calls you back, it's because you asked him to.
Who We Share It With
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with other contractors or competing businesses.
We may share information with a small number of service providers that help us operate, for example, website hosting, form and email delivery, scheduling, contact management, and job management services. We provide only the information reasonably needed for those services to support your request or our work.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Text Message Privacy and Consent
Text-message consent is optional and is not a condition of purchasing a service. If you check an SMS consent box on one of our forms, American Radon Systems may send transactional messages about the estimate, service request, or appointment you initiated, including confirmations, reminders, rescheduling, and arrival updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
We record the consent choice, the disclosure version shown, and the time the form was received so that we can honor your preferences. We do not use this program for marketing campaigns.
No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
How We Protect It
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure. Our website uses HTTPS encryption. No internet transmission is 100% secure, but we treat your information with care and don't leave it exposed.
How Long We Keep It
We keep your information as long as needed to provide service and support your account. If a calendar or contact-management service is temporarily unavailable after we receive your request, the minimum information needed for that unfinished step may remain in a private retry queue. It is removed as soon as the step is completed, or after no more than 20 unsuccessful attempts or 30 days. If automatic delivery is exhausted, the queued form details are deleted; a private link to the related Jobber request and limited failure metadata may remain until our staff completes and acknowledges the manual recovery. Hashed, non-readable duplicate-prevention receipts for Google Contacts are also limited to 30 days and are removed during scheduled integration health checks. Some records of completed radon mitigation work may be retained longer as required by Illinois licensing and regulatory standards. If you'd like us to remove your information, contact us and we'll do our best, though records tied to licensed work may need to stay.
Your Choices
You can contact us at any time to:
- Ask what information we have about you
- Request a correction
- Ask us to stop contacting you
- Request that your information be deleted (subject to licensing retention requirements)
Just email us at [email protected] or call (815) 370-9682.
Cookies and Analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find us and which pages are most useful. This helps us improve the site. Google Analytics and our hosting infrastructure may process:
- Pages you visited and how long you stayed
- General geographic area (city or region, not your exact address)
- Browser type and device
- How you arrived at the site (search engine, direct link, etc.)
American Radon Systems does not run display-ad tracking on this website or use this information to build its own advertising profiles. Google describes how information from sites using its analytics services may be handled in the Google Privacy Policy. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings if you prefer.
Forms that request a property address offer optional Google Maps address suggestions. After you interact with the street-address field, your browser connects to Google Maps Platform and sends routine technical information. As you type, it also sends the partial address text so Google can return possible matching addresses. You can ignore the suggestions and enter the address manually. Google describes its handling of this information in the Google Privacy Policy and its service terms in the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms.
Our AQI and wildfire-smoke pages embed official AirNow widgets served from widget.airnow.gov. When one of those embeds loads, the visitor's browser connects directly to AirNow, and AirNow or its analytics providers may receive technical information such as an IP address, browser details, time, and referring site. The embed may require third-party cookies. The same current reading is available through the visible AirNow link if the widget is blocked. See the EPA Privacy and Security Notice.
The website is delivered through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process routine network and security data needed to serve and protect the site. Our forms also use Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish legitimate submissions from automated abuse. Turnstile processes limited security signals such as the visitor's IP address, browser user-agent, TLS fingerprint, and the site key and origin for bot detection. See Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum and Privacy Policy.
Children Under 13
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our site, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we'll note it clearly.
