That experience matters because homes are not all built the same. Finished basements, crawl spaces, additions, split levels, passive piping, and existing systems each require a different plan. Bill looks at the home before quoting so the system can be designed around the house instead of forcing the house around a standard layout.

Existing Systems

Already have a radon system?

You do not have to know who installed it or exactly what is wrong before calling. American Radon Systems checks, repairs, activates, reroutes, relocates, and improves existing systems throughout the communities we serve.

Noisy or silent radon fan?

Send a photo of the fan or manometer. Bill can usually tell whether the system is pulling suction or whether the fan should be checked.

Check fan replacement

Have a radon pipe but no fan?

Many newer subdivision homes already have passive radon piping. If the home tests high, Bill can check whether activation is the cleanest next step instead of starting from scratch.

How Homes Differ

Experience with the way suburban homes are actually built

Radon systems are not designed from a single template. A finished basement needs a different route than an open utility room. A basement and attached crawl space require separate suction areas. Additions, split levels, slabs, walkouts, lookouts, passive piping, and existing systems all change the plan. Bill evaluates those details before the system is quoted.

Passive radon systems
Homes with multiple foundation sections
Homes with an existing mitigation system
Homes undergoing remodeling
Homes receiving additions
Homes needing system relocation or pipe rerouting

A basement and an attached crawl space require separate suction points or suction areas. The design decision is how those components are routed and connected, not whether the crawl space can be ignored.

In finished or higher-detail homes, routing, paint color, fan placement, sound, and the view from the street may carry extra weight. Those considerations can be addressed during the design instead of after the system is installed.

Why American Radon Systems

Why the South & Southwest Suburbs Call Us

Mitigation Specialists

When results come back elevated, mitigation is the fix. That is the work our crew builds around every day, with more than 10,000 radon systems installed.

Installed With the House in Mind

Bill evaluates the home first. Every system is laid out for your foundation, finished spaces, and practical routing, not a one-size template.

Called When Radon Comes Up

Homeowners and agents call us for new systems, fan replacement, passive activation, repairs, and system relocation when the layout no longer fits.

We Know Timelines Matter

Bill reviews the situation quickly, then Jose and the installation team work around the home, the calendar, and any real estate timing.

Fully Equipped Crews

Our vehicles carry all materials, piping, and equipment for a complete mitigation install on the first visit. No return trips to pick up parts.

Clear Warranty Support

If a fan we install fails during the first five years, the service visit, labor, and replacement fan are included at no cost to the homeowner.

Understanding Radon

What the System Is Actually Doing

Radon is measurable and fixable. These two views show why testing matters and why a mitigation system is designed around the whole home, not just one visible crack.

How Radon Gets In

Pressure under the home finds small openings

Radon usually is not coming from one single hole. Pressure under the home lets soil gas move upward through porous concrete itself, sump openings, crawl spaces, cracks, and small gaps around pipes.

How Mitigation Pulls It Out

The fan creates the easier path out

A mitigation fan creates a lower-pressure path under the home, so radon is pulled into the pipe before it enters the living space, then vented above the roofline.
