Our subdivision is brand new. Why did we test high?
New homes can test high. Radon comes from the soil, not the age of the home. Newer homes here usually have passive piping by law, which gives us a head start, but the pipe often needs a fan before the number comes down.
My neighbor's test was high. Should I worry about mine?
It tells you nothing certain either way. Levels vary home to home, even side by side. It is a good reason to test, not a reason to panic.
Our radon fan sounds different than it used to. Is that a problem?

We have links to free and $8 kits, depending on your county. Cook County mails a free kit to the Cook side of Tinley Park and Frankfort; Will County sells an $8 kit at its Joliet, Bolingbrook and Monee offices; a reusable detector lets you watch your level year-round.
